President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the upper chamber of the National Assembly seeking the confirmation of seven ministerial nominees.
The ministerial nominees include Henry Ikechukwu – Abia State, Umana Okon Umana – Akwa-Ibom State; Ekuma Joseph – Ebonyi State; Goodluck Nana Obia – Imo State; Umar Ibrahim Yakub – Kano State; Ademola Adewole Adegorioye – Ondo State; Odo Udi – Rivers State.
In May, Mr Buhari had directed all members of his cabinet seeking elective positions to resign from office.
Six ministers resigned to pursue their political ambitions.
They include Godswill Akpabio, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs; Rotimi Amaechi, Ministry of Transportation; Uche Ogah, Ministry of Mines and Steel Development; Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, Ministry of Education; Tayo Alasoadura, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and Ogbonnaya Onu, Ministry of Science and Technology.
