LAGOS – Nigerian gospel singer and songwriter, Chidinma Ekile, professionally known as Chidinma has won the hearts of many with her sonorous voice when she emerged winner of the music talent show.
The singer, who revealed her new status in a series of post on Instagram on Sunday as she clocked 30, noted she is now a “crusader of the gospel of Jesus” and has also released a single ‘Jehovah Overdo’ to mark her rebranding.
“My name is Minister Chidinma Ekile. I’m a crusader of the gospel of Jesus. I’m a crusader of the gospel of Jesus Christ,” she wrote. While also thanking God for another year of life,” she wrote.
The gospel minister has also rebranded her Instagram page by clearing off previous photos and albums when she was a secular artiste.
Chidinma’s pop career began on a fiery note with her debut single ‘Jankoliko’ featuring Sound Sultan in 2011.
She had several hit songs while signed to iLLBliss and Clarence Peters’ record label “Capital Hill/Goretti Company”.
At the 2012 edition of the KORA Awards, she won “Best Female West African Act”. She was also nominated for “Best Female Act” at the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards.
Chidinma is currently signed to Eezee Concepts which is also home to popular gospel sensation Mercy Chinwo.
