The Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Ondo State, Mr. Rufus Akeju has said the commission is more committed to ensuring the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state is free, fair, and credible, calling on security operatives to collaborate with INEC.
Mr. Akeju made this known during a training session of security operatives in Akure, the state capital, ahead of the October 10 governorship election.
Ondo INEC, REC noted that the roles of the security operatives are important in ensuring that the election is a success, stressing that there is a need for them to synergize.
In his response, the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abolaji Salami who was represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Kuryas assured the people of Ondo State that the Police Force will remain unbiased and ensure that law and order are maintained before, during, and after the election.
The Nigeria Police, Nigerian Army, NSCDC, FRSC, Immigration, NDLEA, DSS, NCS, and Customs Service were in attendance.
