AKURE – Ondo State Government has imposed a 24 hour curfew on the ancient town of Ikare-Akoko in Akoko North East Local Government Area of the state following the disturbing violence that erupted over OLOKOJA chieftaincy title.
Donald Ojogo, Commissioner for Information and Orientation made this known in a press statement. He said “The curfew takes effect from 6.00pm on Wednesday, May 5, 2021”.
Ojogo said “Government warns that Security Agencies have been deployed and mandated to enforce the curfew”.
He said “anyone who violates or contravenes government order would be made to face the full wrath of the Law”
He also announced that Government has ordered the immediate suspension of all activities relating to the OLOKOJA chieftaincy title.
“No one is permitted to parade himself as OLOKOJA, or engage in promotional activities relating to the title in question. This directive takes immediate effect” he said.
